mattandallismom
We had a similar thing happen when we asked for our contract they said we signed. It took a good 6 months and several calls for them to produce. I wish I had found this board sooner. We would be 175.00 richer.
divemedic
Do a search for Verizon. I took them on about 2 years ago and they paid me to make me go away.
stancil1
First of all, your from Texas, so you can also look for violations of the TDCA.Sec. 392.202. CORRECTION OF THIRD-PARTY DEBT COLLECTOR'S OR CREDIT BUREAU'S FILES. (a) An individual who disputes the accuracy of an item that is in a third-party debt collector's or credit bureau's file on the individual and that relates to a debt being collected by the third-party debt collector may notify in writing the third-party debt collector of the inaccuracy. The third-party debt collector shall make a written record of the dispute. If the third-party debt collector does not report information related to the dispute to a credit bureau, the third-party debt collector shall cease collection efforts until an investigation of the dispute described by Subsections (-(e) determines the accurate amount of the debt, if any. If the third-party debt collector reports information related to the dispute to a credit bureau, the reporting third-party debt collector shall initiate an investigation of the dispute described by Subsections (-(e) and shall cease collection efforts until the investigation determines the accurate amount of the debt, if any. This section does not affect the application of Chapter 20, Business & Commerce Code, to a third-party debt collector subject to that chapter.Send another request for Verification to the OC and DV the CA, all via CMRRR. At the same time, you need to dispute with the CRA's in writting, not online or over the phone. They're continued ignoring of your request will only help you build a better paper trail for potential legal action. Did you send your first requests CMRRR? If so, just hang on to all your info, you'll need it later and just be patient. You want to catch these a$$e$ in as many violations as you can before you send an ITS.D
CantCU
Look closely at your CR. When was it first reported to the CRA? Was it around the same time as the JDB took over the collection attempts?I've had a similar problem with a JDB reporting both as a collection account and "on behalf" of the OC. If you have disputed with the CRA, and it came back "verified", find out MOV...and by whom.
