I sent an email to gary brown and have not heard from him as of yet which probably means he ignored my email. The good thing about email is that i have the service read notify email service. I read above that you send it to the attornery general. Is it to the state AG where CA is located or where I am located? Also, I would like to know how do you write a response to the BBB on this company. If someone has a sample, can you either email me or post in the forum to help other newbies like myself?

Why are you Emailing a CA? DVing?

IMHO, no good can come of Emailing a CA. You have no proof they received let alone read your Email. Read notification can be very spotty. Within one Intranet is quite a bit different from sending Internet. Too easy for someone to claim, "Your honor, I did receive the Email, I saw the subject line, I tried to open it, but it was empty. Something must have happened with our Email system because I lost several other Emails that day." Everyone has had adverse experience with Email, and ANYONE is going to be sympathetic.

I have done DVing over the internet email with NCO and got a good outcome so I thought that it was okay. I guess you learn from your mistakes. Anyway, I just did a complaint with BBB because AFNI is really giving me the runaround and I don't have time for their games. And if LVNV don't act right I am going to write BBB and AG on their aspirants. I am tired of taking these CA mess. IF you have any type of advice I will take it. I do not profess to be an experienced person but I am aspiring to learn from you guys.

BBB

It can't hurt, and there's no cost. Not even a stamp. Just file an online complaint. However, LVNV already has an unsatisfactory rating with BBB. What's one more complaint going to matter in terms of solving the issues before you? Every little bit can help, but persist with DV using the DV flowchart.

AFNI has a better record with BBB, so you might have better success with them. Again, it can't hurt, it may help, but do continue to collect as many violations as possible. That's your only real leverage.

AG

Assuming they act, it's likely the SOL will have expired and the TL will be off your CR. State AG offices generally have a LOT on their plate. Do file a complaint, but do collect violations.

Do realize that some BBB's do nothing when you complain about a CA. Yes, they will respond they received your complaint, but, don't expect miracles. Sometimes you get results, sometimes you don't. Yes, you will see the CA's status, as to how many complaints resolved, and how many not, etc.

As to emailing specific persons within a corporation, it is worth a try, but, if no response withiin a reasonable time, say 10 days, send the same person a letter stating your complaint as well as mention the email with no response. This way, having sent the letter CMRR, there is no way they can ignore it. It is said that sending a FAX will suffice as a receipt is most always printed or held in memory. Myself, if I FAX, I go to a mail place and pay the $1.00 per page fee. You are given a receipt that clearly displays the FAX was sent.

As to the AG, the best way is to go to the respective AG website, read how to file your complaint, then print out the forms and mail by CMRR. Most forms do not give you sufficient space to make your claim. What I do is simply write "see attached" where you are supposed to write your complaint and leave it at that.

retmar-wouldn't it be best to file a complaint with both the CA's AG and yours? Or is that not necessary? Just wondering.

serenity-I have a paid collection (that's not even mine!)that I've been disputing for quite some time. So, I shot an email to the CEO of Diversified Adjustment Services yesterday and got a response a couple hours later (on a Sat.) She has passed the info to Vice-President of Collections and it's being investigated. I don't know if it'll work but it was worth a shot. It has to work better than the so called investigation they do at the CRA's. Crossing my fingers but I have a hard copy of an ITS ready if the results aren't satisfactory though.

Where did you find NCO's email. I spoke with them on the phone - (before I joined this site) and before I could even begin to question then, the told me the account was outdated and would be deleted. I am also wondering if I should get that in writing?

Yes, you would want to have it in writing, if possible. You can accomplish

this in one of two ways.

1. Call the person you spoke to and ask politely if they would. Simply state for yours and their protection, you would appreciatre their doing so.

2. Send a CMRR letter with the same request.

UPDATE: The Vice Pres of Div. Adj. just responded to my email. I guess the email thing works. I don't know if I can use this email as proof but hopefully I won't need it. Here is the verdict.

Mr. MadinKS

I have reviewed the account you referenced. It appears to me that this account was reported accurately. However, since the matter was resolved more than four years ago, we have decided to direct the credit reporting agencies to remove the item.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Mike Holtz

Vice President of Operations

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:

Mr. MadinKS,

I will send you a letter confirming that we have directed the reporting agencies to remove the item.

Mike Holtz

I see FICO's rising in my future!!!
