qtptute
A CA can file a judgment for any amount of money. If you didn't show up in court, then they got judgment against you and can garnish or put a lien on your property, do whatever it takes to get the money. However, if you were never served, commonly called, sewer service, then you can make a motion with the court to have the judgment vacated for lack of service. kevin3344
CAs often file suit because they know people are scared of court and they'll probably win by default. The best thing you can do is guard against this by answering any summons. If they already have a judgment, you can file a motion with the court to have it dismissed if you weren't served properly. I would do some research about what is proper service and vacating judgments for your locale.________The Peak Towers Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344
