Free cr question

Recommended Posts

It requires your current address because the CRA's want to update your file. They also use the data you submit to match with the data they have on hand.

Send your request using an address they have on file. Be aware that you may have to submit identification, like a photo ID and proof of residency (lease, mortgage or public utility bill).

If you want a CR you will need to give an address and other key information. This is for your safety and to make sure it is you. If you give your address, they WILL update your report and it WILL be visible for a CA to see your address when they do a soft pull of your report.

Remember this, because a CA does not have an address on you and they send letters to your "old" address causes all kinds of problems for you. The CA can insert collection accounts on your reports, etc. because your are "un reachable". When they send these collection notices (to your old address) and there is no response in the required 30 days, you default, therefore giving them the right to insert the negative on your report.

You DO have rights as a debtor

Thanks for the reply lyle. I'm just in a darned if I do darned if I don't place now. If I want a CR I give information that leads them to me and a possible summons. But if I don't get a CR I have no way of knowing what's on my CR, how long untill anything is out of SOL, ect. I want to work on my CR I just don't want a summons without being able to work something out with a CA for a possible PFD. So if I want my CR my only option is to just get my CR and take that chance of a summons? Thanks again.

Hi, The summons that I would not want would be from hospital/medical bills not paid by the ins. company back in spring/summer of 2005. The bills are mine and I'm sure there in collections by now. I haven't recieved anything on them from a CA and I don't want to get my CR just to give my current address to a CA. I really want to thank everyone who helped me.

I actually had old medical bills that the hospital never sent to collections. They were literally from 2004 and the hospital was still trying to collect it themselves.

On the otherhand, I had medical bills from having my daughter in September that were in collections before the hospital even determined the amount that I was responsible for.

I think it just depends on the hospital. It would be best for you to pull your CRs just to see what's on there.
