MadinKS
Just yesterday I was ranting and raving about my PAID tax warrant and today, I read this article in our local paper. If this SOB has no tax warrant some stuff's gonna hit the fan in Wichita. I'm going to the courthouse tomorrow to get a copy of my wife's judgment and I think I'll look and see what public records this guy has. No tax warrant and I'm going to the media.Sebelius official mired in debtBY DION LEFLERThe Wichita EagleAn official running a $217 million state agency has filed for personal bankruptcy, facing debts including $60,000 in back taxes.Kansas Department of Health and Environment Secretary Roderick Bremby and his wife have nearly $600,000 in debts and $464,000 in assets, court records show.Bremby, 47, characterized himself and his wife, April, a Lawrence physician, as "typical Americans who file for protection under the bankruptcy laws."He implied that the bankruptcy was caused in part by loss of income due to medical reasons, but would not elaborate. The couple have a combined income of $204,533 a year, according to a bankruptcy filing in a Kansas City, Kan., federal court.Bremby is paid $8,197 a month as KDHE secretary; his wife makes $9,166 as a doctor for Sisters of Charity LVN Health System.Their monthly take-home pay is about $11,000, court records show. The couple's debts include first, second and third mortgages on their Lawrence home totaling $453,000. The home is valued at $399,000, court records show.In addition, they have unsecured debts and credit-card bills totaling $80,000, the records show. The bankruptcy filing also shows that the couple owes more than $52,000 in federal income taxes from 2004 and 2005, about $3,800 in 2004 state income taxes and $4,600 in Douglas County property taxes. In a repayment plan, the couple has agreed to surrender the home and make monthly payments to creditors that will total $72,523 in the next five years.Appointed in January 2003, Bremby was one of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' earliest Cabinet-level hires. Before taking over the agency, he served as assistant city manager in Lawrence for 10 years. MadinKS
direred-I just noticed you added the Northern to the end of location. That's funny because I'm from CA as well and I always make sure people know that I have no affiliation w/SoCal. Other than I was born in San Diego and am a die-hard Chargers fan. Made me chuckle when I noticed it.

Made me chuckle when I noticed it.Actually, I'm from Southern California originally, it's just that for certain answers (e.g. who pulls credit), it does differ regionally in California, so mentioning that I'm not in SoCal might make a difference. For example, in creditpulls, it seems that some OCs pull TU more frequently in SoCal, but alas, they never work out that way for me.
