Swolf
Back in 2002 I was past due and owed arrears for child support in the state of florida. I had a telephonic hearing and it was set up to pay 20.00 extra a month to repay the child support. They are still reporting it as 180 days late even though I have paid as agreed since then, with paystubs to prove the last 2.5 years. They reported it in Oct. 05 and March 06 and again this month. Is it legal to do that even though I have paid as agreed for over 2 years. I feel as though I lived up to my agreement they should not be reporting me 180 late this month. Any clarification would be great thanks.Shawn
rella5
The fact that you are paying now does not change the fact that you were late in the past. CRAs have to accurately report the facts. Having said that, if that reporting is hurting your ability to obtain credit, like buying a house, frequently a letter of explanation showing that the lates are "rolling" will help.
