sjcraw
I noticed today that LVNV is reporting wrong date TL should fall off report. please correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it goes by the first date that you stop paying OC. If this is true how do I go by disputing the debt with the CA. I have already sent out a DV letter to them on 4/6/07. I'm waiting on response from them. And if they are able to verify the debt this will be my second defense against them. Please tell me your opinion on this topic. Thanks in advance for your replies.Sjcraw
Tazjeepcj7
Check to see if they are reporting the account as a collection account or as an open account that is deliquent. Often LVNV Funding will report themselves as a "factoring company" so they can report your account as open and deliquent, damaging your credit report as much as they can. To correctly report as a factoring company, LVNV Funding would have to purchase the account before it defaulted.
TheRoadBack
LVNV is the worst of the worst. You can rack up many violations on them. Keep good records and then go for there throat. What they are doing is clearly poisoning your cr.

sjcraw
Remember, they do not have to respond to your DV. I know that the CA don't have to respond after the 1st 30 days, but why when after filing complaint with AG, and FTC it usally will be deleted. I have had 2 account deleted using this method.Sjcraw

dpgirl
How old is this debt, is it past the SOL in your state?I would think the next step would be to dispute the debt with the CRA (s) and see if LVNV verifies this incorrect date. Then you can get them with a violation for re-aging your account.
