buckeyechick1219
This is more of a fact finding question. I have not received anything like this as debt validation. But I was just wondering, I have DVed a credit card that was applied for over the phone. I never signed a contract, or anything like that, and honestly, I can't remember if I ever paid my bill with a physical check or if it was all online payments. If you DV a CC company and they don't have a signed application, are they able to use a check signed by you for payment as validation that you were responsible for the debt? IHateCAs
That would be evidence that you had an account with the creditor. That is not proof of the current balance.
Guest Jary
Well, I'm not sure on this but doesn't a signed check from you state that you were paying on the account. Why would you send payment if it is not your account? (that is what they might be asking themselves).I hope someone can give you a better answer.Good Luck
buckeyechick1219
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I just wondered if it was possible...and possibly, has anybody else ever had this happen?I actually think these accounts were all paid online, so even then, they wouldn't have something with my signature indicating that it was actually my account without going to the bank and seeing my signature on the checking account. It's all just a hypothetical question. There were four citibank cards in my name, three have been removed from my CR's, the remaining one is with Asset, which is probably the only reason it's not gone yet.
