cracrap
when reviewing my wifes cr that we pulled yesterday,,tu lists a "variant ss#" that lists my name and ss#...are they supposed to be doing this or can we dispute as not being hers?...shes an au on a couple of my cc's but still my ss# shouldnt be on her report,,my greatest concern is that if i default on any cc thats not associated with her,,theyll try and list it on her report as well since theyve somehow "variated her ss# " and added mine!!! anyone here hear of this happenin before?? any help would be greatly appreciated!! Ahntara
It happens frequently. Probably someone mixed up the socials when pulling a joint credit report (for an application).Dispute the variation. Your CR should contain only your SS#. cracrap
thanx for the answer ...but weve never applied for a joint account though...we deliberately keep our stuff seperate
MissaFraQ
Ahntara is correct. Just send a letter to TU disputing the SS variation. I had to do that once but I cant remember if I had to sent "proof" of my SSN. I don't think I did.
rmuse00
Same here. DH's ss# was on my Experian report when I first started to work on repairing my credit. I called and disputed as not mine, which is true. Did not tell them I recognized it. Why do they need to know that anyway! It is MY credit report so only MY ss# should be on it!
