mrprofesisonal32
I have some unpayed bills on my credit report. I am in the process of negoating to pay them off. The questions is. Next year will be 7 years sense these unpayed bills were on my credit report. If I pay them off will it still stay on my credit report for another 7 years if I pay them off??Thanks
kailix
hi I actually came to this site looking for the answer to that same question, and I think this link on the site answers it: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/creditreports/cr_time.shtmlSounds like, no, they can't but they might and so you (we) will need to fight it. kevin3344
Paying a CO will not change the Date of 1st Delinquency. However, it might affect your credit score. I would try a DV first before paying any CA.________Wellbutrin Lawsuit Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344
hiblues
Kevin is right.....also,read the primer first before paying..http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263069always negotiate a PFD when you make payments. There is a common misconception that paying off a collection will make it go away or make it way less ‘severe’The damage is already done, a paid of collection is only slightly better than an unpaid collection. If it remains on your credit report, it’s hurting you. What you want is it to be deleted.
JessFolk
You know after 7 years those negatives are suppose to come off your credit report? If its been longer then 7 years of reporting time(since last payment) then dispute with CRA that they are out of sol. In fact dispute them first, they might come off on their own!Update 7 and half years...but most times they come off around 7.
