Calvary portfolio svcs. (a collection agency i "owe") has inquiries listed on my reports once sometimes twice a month for the past 2 years. Is that legal??? what if anything can i do to stop them?

Well I guess the better question is. What inquiries should i be concerning myself with?

Regular Inquiries, promotional inquiries or accoutn review inquireis?

Do they all negativly affect your score?

Hard pulls are the only ones that will affect your score. The others, soft pulls are used for AR and promotional purposes. These do not affect your score. Are they reporting on your CR? Have you in the past 2 yrs received any communication from them?

No i dont think they are now that i've read the fine print. It states that Account Review inquireies and Promotional Inquiries are seen only by you and do NOT affect your score.

This raises another question though. I thought Promotional Inquiries DID hurt your score. That is why i called the OPT OUT number to have my name taken off of the list for receiveing Promotional Inquiries.

i know that the CA's are not promotional Inquiries but the fine print under promotional Inquiries states:

Promotional Inquiries are seen only by you and do NOT affect your score.

So why did i choose to OPT OUT if it doesnt affect my score???

As far as the CA's pulling inquiries on my reports. Calvary Portfolio (the CA that pulled one every month for the past 2 years) has been paid off, and actually has not pulled since i paid them.

The other CA's pulling are within the SOL in my state (WI) but have not been calling or contacting me at all.

they are actually waiting to see you improve your financial picture so they can come at ya later.

So if i am going to get pre-approved (hopefully) for a mortgage tomorrow this will be a sign to these CA's that my financial situation is improving hey??
