JuniorNY
The last big baddie on my CR has been in collections for years. The OC has never filed a TL but the collection agency has been putting TL's for years, the most recent is 03/07. I disputed, came back verified. Based on DOFD this should fall off this year but the CA put account opened '02, but the acutal DOFD was '00. The OC is Discover, how would I go about getting that DOFD from them? I don't even have my full account # as all my CR's report partial accnt #'s. I need some guidance. Once this one comes off I'm home free for the most part. Any help would be appreciated... someonesomewhere
Might try disputing it as "Too Old To Report".
JuniorNY
My first dispute was an online dispute. Should I send all the CRA's a dispute letter indicating that?
someonesomewhere
Response to an online dispute will probably come faster, but there's probably a greater chance that a written dispute will meet a better fate.
JuniorNY
In the case of "too old to report", does this, in essence, force the hand of the CRA's to confer with the OC to ensure accuracy of the TL?
someonesomewhere
Unfortunately, no dispute can accomplish that. However, both the caselaw and the statutes say the CRAs have to either investigate or rule it frivolous. They cannot simply check their inhouse databases--although that's often what they do. kevin3344
the most recent is 03/07. I disputed, came back verified. Based on DOFD this should fall off this year but the CA put account opened '02This is a common CA tactic, don't fall for it. Date Updated is usually this month; Date Opened is the date the CA placed it on your reports. Neither has anything to do with the DOFD.You will need to call the CRA and ask for the DOFD. Or you can look at your EQ report it usually shows up there.________VAPORIZER VIDEO REVIEW Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344
dpgirl
Call Discover and see if they have any records at all. They can find your old account using your SS#.
