Bank Normally stay on for 10 years from the date of discharge. If you filed in 1997 and it was a CH13, it won't be removed until you reach that 10 year date from discharge. If it was a CH7, it should be removed when you reach the anniv. date of discharge. I just disputed mine from 2000. There was some wrong information. Maybe, with luck, it will fall off!!!!!

Another newbie that isn't quite correct...

BK is deleted 10 years from date of FILING.

To encourage consumers to file BK13, CRAs CHOOSE to delete a BK13 that has been discharged at 7 years from date of filing.

A BK13 that was dismissed can still remain the full 10 years.

This is not correct! :ah:ah:ah: Chapter 13 do not stay on your credit for 10 yrs! Most come off in 6 yrs. ::BigBaby:: This may now have changed with the new bankruptcy laws but back in 1997, this was not the case! xbeer2)

Thomass,

Where do you get your info? According to the FCRA it is 10 yrs across the board. It became CRA policy to delete at 7 for a discharged 13. If you look at the FCRA, you will see that the deletion date is date of filing.

Where did you get 6?
