shantal23
Last year I paid off the collection agency called Collect America LTD for my previous mbna card. I paid them in full with interest in agreement that the information would be taken off my credit report. This information is now listed on my credit report as a Paid collection amount; however the payment status states that it was a claim or was terminated for default. Does anyone know what that means or how I should get it off my credit report?
Big Time
I take it you didn't get the agreement in writing, abnd they just promised you over the phone. How could they lie to you!!??Since it's a rather stale tradeline, you may try to dipute it directly with the CRA's. Online disputes should work just fine for this first attempt. The CA will probably not bother to respond since there is no more money in it for them. If they do, try again around Christmas. chilton1
If the dispute does not work, send them a nutcase letter that you are going to sue them for reporting the account when they greed to delete the account. They have nothing to gain by going to court so they most likely will remove the account. Worked for me 2x with NCO.
