26pyxis
Hi AllI'm new and I have a question. I had a paid medical collection drop off my credit report about about 5 months. The CA is J J MAC INTYRE CO INC. About the two weeks ago the account reappeared on only experian showing that I owed $1. I disputed with experian and they only updated to show that it was paid. It dropped my credit score about 35 points. My question is should I dv J J MAC INTYRE CO? My only concen is that if I DV them that they will place the account back on EX and TU. Thanks to the info this board I was able to sucessfully DV NCO and until this account reappeared I had a clean credit report. Any help would be greatly appreciated. elyse449
You said you disputed w/ the CB's and it was "only updated to show paid?" So, what's the concern on disputing w/ the CA? If it's already on your credit file, there's nothing to lose. OHHH...you're concerned it'll end up showing up on Equifax and Transunion?? Well, that may happen anyway. Than again, maybe it won't.How old is this debt? Did you have an agreements in writing on the reporting of this account once paid?Elyse
26pyxis
The debt is from 2004. The bill was going to the wrong address. At the time I did not know that it would go on my credit report because we paid them shortly after we received a letter from. There was no agreement for pay for deletion. I just can't understand why they would put back on my CR it was for only $155 and it's paid.
MissaFraQ
If it was me, I would sent a dispute letter to the CA (CMRRR of course). Once the little green card came back - I would dispute it with the CRA. See what happens after that. You really don't have anything to lose because if it DOES show up on the other 2 CRA - you can dispute them immediately since the CA will already have your DV letter. Also, am I understanding this correctly - They listed it on your credit report, you disputed it and it was deleted. And then 2 weeks ago, it was re-inserted? If that is correct, did you get a letter from the CRA notifying you of the re-insertion?
MadinKS
did you get a letter from the CRA notifying you of the re-insertion?Unfortunately, that's only if the CRA re-inserts it. It's a little trick the CA's play. They let it get deleted and then reporting again the next update period. Also, the CA is not required to give you a notice of re-insertion. Stupid law, but it's the law. Until enough people get together and say, enough, it will always work in the favor of big business. Sorry.
26pyxis
This account was paid back in 2004 and was for only $155, I can't see why the CA would put it would put it back on my credit report. The account was deleted in Jan and started reappearing in Apr. After disputing, EX only updated the account but the recent last date of activity is killing my credit score. However, because it is only reporting on Experian, my middle score is still pretty good. There lies my problem, I worry if I DV the CA they will place the account back on the other report as well with would drop my middle score 40 points. Any input would be appreciated.
