SugarNspice
I disputed Asset Acceptance for a DTE bill and the results were that they updated their information to Open/120 Day late. This was from 3/2003. I don't think I ever received the initial collection notice, therfore didnt dispute it until I started this whole credit repair process. This bill could be mine though. I'm not really sure because we lived in an apartment at the time and moved out early. Can asset report it as open/120 day late?

MadinKS
Can asset report it as open/120 day late?Is this in the status? Because the status is open collection. The 120 day late is invalid. You've already been CO'd and I would dispute the status. Watch out for ASSet though. They just re-aged my wife's 6 3/4 yr old collection that was due to come off in June 2007. Now it's Dec 2010!!! Fightin' that now. ASSet will try anything to separate you from your money!
SugarNspice
Ive disputed asset twice with EX. The first time it was verified, and this was the 2nd dispute and they updated it. I cant dispute anymore online so I'm going have to call EX, I just hope they dont claim its frivilous. I heard Asset is known for re aging. I keep all my past CR, so I'll keep a close watch on it. SugarNspice
Well I disputed once again by phone with EX for a few collections that were verified including Asset Acceptance. I spoke to someone in the fraud department. She was very nice and helpful so I hope it turns out well. Each time I disputed I put no knowledge of account and I told her that. She told me it's totally different when you claim your reason for dispute as no knowledge of account. I thought it meant fraud but she said its different and that the handling of disputes is more efficient with the fraud department. Keeping my fingers crossed.
