avb221
I sure do wish I'd found this site a couple of years ago. Here's my scoop.I'm in SC. Within SOL on a Fleet Credit Card. CACV started harrassing me in late 2004. They say I owe approximately $7500. Card's limit was $4000. I tried to settle with them numerous times but was only met with idle threats. In June 2005 I was served with Summons and Complaint. I filed an answer within 30 days and then waited. And waited, and waited. Yesterday I received a letter from the Clerk of Court with a notice of a roster meeting being held on April 30. Said all parties need to be present. There's my name along with the attorney's name here in my town who filed the suit on behalf of CACV. My aunt is an attorney out of state but used to practice here and still holds a license. She called the attorney for me today to try to settle so I didn't have to go to court and they told her they no longer work with CACV and gave her a number to their home office. She then called them and asked who their attorney was in SC. Whoever she spoke with said that they have no attorney in SC at this time. So.....what are the chances I show up and they don't? Anyone had this happen?
