Just wanted to share some good (well, to me, GREAT news)!

Capital One was reporting inaccurate last date of activity from an account that was charged off in 2000 and still showing a balance open of $768. Just when I thought it was going to drop off, they put a payment activity in for August 2004. There has been no activity since 2000.

I used one of the letters from this site to validate the debt and I just received a letter back from them stating that they had instructed all three majors to remove the information. Nearly at the same time, I received an alert from Equifax (I now subscribe to their credit watch program) and it did indeed drop off and is now noted as paid as agreed, zero balance and no late pay dates mentioned.

This site works and the advice that I have received has been excellent.

Thank you SO much!

Madinks thanks for the link, that was the letter I was going to use. I justed wanted to know if dw4910 use another letter, since he mention he had crap 1 validate the debt. I thought you can only have OC investigate not validate. Just lining my ducks in order so remove this one and only baddie.

Thanks again
