dwo4910
Just wanted to share some good (well, to me, GREAT news)!Capital One was reporting inaccurate last date of activity from an account that was charged off in 2000 and still showing a balance open of $768. Just when I thought it was going to drop off, they put a payment activity in for August 2004. There has been no activity since 2000.I used one of the letters from this site to validate the debt and I just received a letter back from them stating that they had instructed all three majors to remove the information. Nearly at the same time, I received an alert from Equifax (I now subscribe to their credit watch program) and it did indeed drop off and is now noted as paid as agreed, zero balance and no late pay dates mentioned. This site works and the advice that I have received has been excellent.Thank you SO much! answer2prayer
I used one of the letters from this site to validate the debt I too would like to know which letter you used. There are many samples on this site. I've been using them to put my drafts together. Would be nice to know! Care to share!
MadinKS
that was the letter I was going to use.I would leave out all the legalese though. It doesn't need to be that intense. Just tell them you dispute the information and give them a reason why. Good luck.
