Theres no inforcable paper trail on a fax. You can fax a DV but they can claim they did not recive it and you'll be left with nothing to prove it. If your close to the end of the 30 day window, spend the extra and sent it priority or express overnight with signature required.

What I really just want to get from them is something stating the Account # for the OC. Because I want to try to pay the OC but I cant do that without having the account #.

These debts are all about 3-5 years old (but still within SOL in WI). I am wayyyyyyyyyy over the 30 day window.

I am in the process of getting a mortgage so I really just need them to be paid. So i was going to go with a PFD and see where that took me.

But I thought if I could get from them the OC account # then I could find out from the OC's if these account ever even existed and if so try to pay the OC.

Just wondering if I can ask that the CA Validated the debt by sending me a fax and if so does anyone know the fax #'s for:

Midland Credit Management

I do fax any correspondence to Midland with a copy via CMRRR. Their fax number is on all their correspondence, but according to the BBB their fax # is: (858) 309-6977...the one on the dun I have is: (800) 306-4443. Both work.

The best way to communicate with debt collectors or credit bureaus is via USPS registered reciept mail.

Your letter does not have to be pretty.

There are many books out there that have template letters and how to instructions to defend yourself against debt collectors and credit bureaus.

When you send registered reciept mail letters you will receive the green card back to prove the the debt collector or credit bureau recieved your letter and the date they recieved it.

These green cards will be you paper trail to show the court you have defended yourself and you will most likely prevent the debt collector from getting a judgment.
