Beefcake
I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any bennifits to disputing on-line vs. by mail or vice versa? Which is the better way to go about it and why? Thanks to all that reply!
CleverCynic
That's a loaded one...Methuss leads the war against online disputes, many many others think it's fine, and most would probably tell you to do both. I disputed all online but that was before I found this site. What would I do now? Don't know... online is the path of least resistance for a shot in the dark. MadinKS
Welcome. Definitely dispute by mail. Be sure to send it CMRRR so you know when they receive it and about when the dispute will conclude. You should really read this post to understand the difference between online v. mail.http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263996And be sure to read all the stickys and the credit repair primer. Good luck.http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=187http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263069
Beefcake
You guys are awesome!! Thanks for the info! One more question... What if I have alredy disputed one or two things online? Should I or can I dispute it by mail now?
MadinKS
What if I have alredy disputed one or two things online? Should I or can I dispute it by mail now?Not unless the disputes are over. If you send them anything while a dispute is ongoing it'll screw 'em all up. Just wait till the results are back and then you can start w/the written. That's if you mean you want to dispute the same ones. If you're talking about different ones, then yes you can do written now.

Greg
IMO, I only dispute online the easier ones. I did last year for a tax lien that was paid, but EX was showing as not paid. I disputed by mail in 2005 and they claimed to verify and it stayed on report. I disputed the lien with EX again, this time online, 7-26-06. It was not corrected, but deleted entirely on 8-1-06. More complicated ones I would probably only do by mail. Also, the online disputes you have to pick one of their reasons and EQ doesn't have an "other reason" option.BTW, the two times I have done an online dispute with EQ, they have put "Fraud Alert" on my report! Hope that helps,Greg
