Transunion - Late payments/closed accounts

Does anyone know why TU lists anywhere from 12 - 48 months of payment history?? I have more than 1 capital one account that was 60-90 days late in 2004. All of which was reported.

On my last TU report - one of those accounts now only reports the last 12 months and is listed as an open account in good standing. (which isn't true - the account is closed) The second capital one account shows 48 months of history and is listed as negative and is also listed as an open account (which is not true).

On what grounds can/should I dispute the negative listing?

Start with no knowledge of account. If it comes back verified, which Cap 1 keeps pretty good records from what I understand, then you get more specific. Something like disputing the payment history, status, or both. I would leave the other one alone though. If it's showing good, you definitely don't want to mess w/it. Your FICO will take a huge hit for deleting that.

You can try to dispute w/the CRA but it sounds more like an issue you need to take up with the CCCS. If they can write you a letter explaining the lates were their fault it would bode well for your case. Then you could just get Crap 1 to remove the negs. Worth a shot.

Unfortunately the CCCS is no longer in business, I terminated my agreement with them because they were not paying my creditors. I attempted to disputed their services the BBB, Attorney General, etc. but the owner of the company died and there is no forwarding info! Thus my credit nightmare!
