How do you get old CAs off credit reports...

Thanks in advance to those who reply! I appreciate your time...

My question is this: I have a Discover debt that charged off and a CA (Hilco Receivables) took it over. I DV'd them in Feb. and received no replies. Now, I found out from my credit report that NCO has it. I just DV'd them and am about to dispute the CRAs. How did NCO get it? Did the first CA sell it to them or did Discover? How do I now get Hilco off my reports? DV them again and dispute the CRA's? Thanks again!!!

Unfortunately this is common practice among CAs/JDBs. This is why we should do everything possible to not let our debts end up in collections. Because - YES- they do sell to each other and there you have more than one TL for one debt. It sucks... but that's the harst reality of it. Most of us here have learned this the hard way....

So, my guess is- NCO has not sent you anything yet, nor have they tried to contact you. You have done right by timely DVing both JDBs.

Does the Hilco TL have a zero balance? It should, since it has been sold to NCO. DV Hilco again. If you receive nothing again- send the ITS letter.

NCO is a vicious animal- make sure you read the NCO sticky.

good luck!
