PULLED TU Today / Potential Collection Law Firm soft pulling for 3 months now

I pulled my TU report today and noticed a collection law firm that i have never heard from has been soft pulling my report for 3 months now.

After some googling, i have learned they are an Atlanta firm with a local office that lists their Atlanta phone number.

What could they be doing? I have never heard from them.

Its weird, just like they are kind of lying in wait for something.

Anybody else had this happen? what were the results?

This is very strange indeed??? How do you stop/prevent pulls on your report that are not authorizied or legit?

Sounds as though they are lurking...waiting to see if you apply for a mortgage, or reduce some of your debt (thus perhaps transferring a balance owed to them to a nearly paid off CC).

The more you clean up your credit report, the better they think their chances of collecting are.

I don't know who they represent. The only 2 collections I am in, I am in contact with weekly.

Since they are only 5 miles away, I might make a personal (anonymous) visit and ask who they represent.

I'm sure they'll ask me who I am and i will say nothing.
