ribbit1072
Got a call from someone who says "he's going to make a decision with or without me" and leaves me this 800 number. Looked it up and it's MRS ASSOCIATES. Anybody have any idea who they collect for and what I should do about it?
merkurfan
got any idea who the debt is? Or what they might be calling about? I'd say with or with out you their mind is already made up. They are just trying to get a rise out of you so they can lean on you for some cash. I'd blow um off it was me. Or call back late at night when you know no one will be there, leave them a message that just states your phone number and tell them they have your address, send all comunications there. AlmostFixed
MRS collected for 2 Chase accounts of mine. They are one of the lowest of the low. This was 4 years ago, I paid them a reduced amount with the agreement that it would totally satisfy the debt. Young, stupid me didn't get anything in writing...which has led to my current lawsuit with/against Unifund.Be very careful with MRS. Like most of the others, they will lie, cheat and steal...and you could be left holding the bag if you're not careful.
ribbit1072
I don't even know what they are collecting for! I hate it when they just leave their name and a number.

Southerngirl
They collect for alot of companies. Citi, BofA, MBNA. Does anyone have a fax number for them. You can wait for a letter from them so you know what debt they are collecting for. It won't be long before you get a letter. Whatever you do don't talk with them. They don't play nice. kungfufreddy
I got called today from MRA. Twice.I first realized when I got a call to my cell phone. I dont know how they got my cell phone number, but I answered without checking who the call was from. When they asked for me by name and said it was a personal matter I asked who they were and waht it was about. She refused to elaborate unless I identified myself, which I refused to do.I told he she had the wrong guy and she said if I was not who she was looking for then why did I ask her so many questions. Then I got home and found voice mail from the same lady. She said she had some "signed documents" which she was evaluating and was giving me a chance to bargain before she "makes her decision". She left a phone number and an extension number.I will wait for a DC letter then will send a DV letter. So far NCO and Alliance One have tried to collect on this account and both went bye bye after the DV letters I sent them. These douchbags will do the same.
