CleverCynic
I've had an ExxonMobil card for at least 6 months, the inquiry is there but no sign of the account on any report. An e-mail to them only came back with a quote from the agreement stating that "account performance would be reported to the appropriate bureaus" (paraphrasing), but didn't address WHEN. Experiences anyone? This will double my revolving credit lines and will already have some age to it, so I'm hoping for a boost.Maybe I should leave a couple bucks unpaid this month? SecretAgentWoman
Call them up, and say if you don't report, I'm going to close the account? That might make them take interest.I would imagine a gas card WOULD want the account paid in full each month.
CleverCynic
Right... then they close it and report it the next month closed lol... I'm willing to beg first. Just thought maybe someone would step up and say "oh yeah they take about that long" So maybe I don't feel forgotten.
zowie
my exxon card was reporting to all 3 forever and then a few months ago it dropped from all 3. It is still open. I heard the problem is they are switching from GEMB to CITI or something like that but i haven't called.
onthedot
Is Exxon very difficult to get? Anyone know what score they require or if there is another gas card that works with lower scores?
Kat99
Same exact thing happend to me, they were reporting and all of a sudden dropped off all 3. I called and they said it was due to the Citibank transition and that they will be reporting monthly. Its going on 2 months and still no reporting. I just sent ltrs out to 3 different addressed for Exxon and Citi which inlcluded a ltr from a Citibank rep indicating my account is active and in good standing. I just sent the ltrs out Friday so we will see if they go back to reporting. This is one of my oldest positive accts so I lost the history. I will update when I see or see outcome
CleverCynic
I see... thanks~ It's quite possible it USED to be there, but I never checked before this month. Guess I'll be patient... just hoping it's there by July with complete history.
zfire
Last reported in March. Found I couldn't even pay my bill at Check Free this Month. Imagine my initial panic when I found out that I had no bill there, and when I typed their name in it said NO HISTORY~ Then I remembered they were changing companies...and had actually recieved a letter about this a few months ago, which of course, I promptly put in the trash. I did go in to the EM site and sign up to pay online there..so all is not lost, but.........................I first noticed EM Reporting gone on a revised and corrected report for DH. Then saw it wasn't on True Credit for me. This is really distressing, because they have essentually wiped out 12 years of history for us on a never late always paid card. I just hope they put it back.\\Zowie: Try to get a Chevron. They are fairly easy to get.
Tazjeepcj7
When Sears changed I had to ask for Sears to update my account info, and they only updated one month...can't hurt to write a NICE letter and ask that your account info be updated with the CRAs. CleverCynic
Was the account open date correct before your request? If you remember... thanks!
CleverCynic
I just contacted Exxon/Mobil by phone. They say it should be another month, and they are sending out all new cards to all customers over the next month and reporting should be back on track around then. (no real reason given as to why there's no reporting now)As I am taking a road trip to FL for a couple weeks this month, they assured that the new cards will not disable the old ones until it is used, since I may be gone when it arrives. In case this is helpful to anyone...
zfire
What will be helpful is if they don't rate it as a new account for me.I keep thinking of those 12 years of never late
zowie
Same thing happened to me always reported until a few months ago now exxon is gone from all 3. I called and they told me the same thing about the switching, i just used it and so we'll see if it reports.
Tazjeepcj7
When Sears updated my account they had the correct date the account was opened but only reported for the time Citi had taken over the card (which in my case was a GOOD thing). CleverCynic
Sooo... this is 7... 8 months now of not reporting for anyone? What do we do guys? A TL that won't report isn't a TL at all! I'll probably lump it for a while, but if they begin reporting as a new account with no history I'm outta there...
CleverCynic
I just called them again. This time they say it probably won't be until the end of the year! Oh it SO better have the whole history when it hits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :'> :'>
CleverCynic
Nope, still not reporting. But I did notice they gave me another $100 CLI today... second one since I've had the card. Started at $200 now at $400. I think it might also be my 1 year anniversary with them. Got it about this time last year.
CleverCynic
Just got off the horn with them again. They guarantee reporting will resume this month! Again, the whole history had better BE THERE!!!! My FICO can't handle another new account!
AboveAverage
I just got approved for an ExxonMobil Personal Card (I don't even drive BUT many of my friends do and I usually treat someone for gas once a month). Do we know what the reporting situation is? It's technically been over a month since your last post. Utilization on this one should be cake. $200, and don't think I can spend more than $50 ever a month. I don't fill up SUVs, just normal v/V-6 cars that don't eat up gas (and even then I don't fill up...$20 bucks at the most). One stupid question. Do they ever upgrade the card to either a regular credit card and/or increase the limit with good behavior? I admit ignorance when it comes to gas cards. [sorry]
CleverCynic
Still no reporting I got $100 increase automatically at the 6 month and again at the year mark, total of $400 now. When I asked for one they said no. Guess you just have to wait for them.

I will say one thing...all this credit, I will never have to worry about where my next pack of cigarettes will come from...lmao! I didn't know that gas cards also let you buy stuff in the store too....thought it was just gas. Well I should get it sometime next week...but now this is my issue too so I'll have to look out for this. Thanks again.
zfire
Sometime between the 12th and today Exxon /Moblie has started to report again. It's on EQ and EX. No sign of it on TU though. Says date opened 5/1996, so the history is all there.Finally.They've upped my TL also I guess I was supposed to find this out when I received my statement.
