gweedoh
Hi everyone,I'm trying to find something that I can use to make a CRA provide my report to a 3rd party, specifically a potential lender.I don't want to go into the details, but let's say for the sake of argument that a CRA is refusing to provide a copy of my credit report when requested by any potential lender.I can access my credit report from the CRA by paying for it, so they are not refusing to provide it to me and therefore can't use §1681g.Any help is appreciated! willingtocope
The problem is that CRA's charge for reports. If whoever wants to check your report is willing to pay, the CRAs will play along...

Say a potential lender requests it, pays for it, goes through all the normal motions to acquire a credit report but a CRA refuses to provide it. Again, I don't want to go into the details as to why I believe this may be happening, but I need to know if the consumer has any right to action in this situation. willingtocope
I suppose there may indeed be a reason that a CRA would suspend a client's (i.e., credit grantor) right to pull reports. Other than paying for a copy of the report yourself, and handing it to the creditor, I don't think there's anything you can do about it. If the CRA refuses you a copy, then you can sue... willingtocope
If its only one lender who can't get a specific credit report, then they're the ones with the problem. Go talk to another lender.
