Hi guys and gals,

Sent out the attempt to validate debt from a collection agency, received a letter back from them say this...

" Thank you for your inquiry about your account with XXXXXXXX. Medical data has reviewed your information and verified you have a 0 balance on your account. And we are sending the verification information to you. To request validation of this account on this account it will be necessary to contact the orginal creditor.

Based on your communications, Medical Data will report to the credit bureau the above mentioned account as satisfied."

So, I received a score alert from my fico, and the account says paid in the collection agency( I paid the orginal creditor, then sent the letter to the CA hoping to catch them) How can I or is there any way to get the collection agency to remove the whole thing from my credit reports.

Paid collections are tough. You might want to wait a few months and try a dispute with the CRA. Many times, the CA won't take the time to respond to a closed/satisfied account. You might get lucky.

I paid the orginal creditor, not the collection agency. So should the collection account come off, because when the verified it came back that i had a 0 balance?

Because the account was placed with the CA before you paid it, the CA entry can stay, assuming it's reporting 100% accurately.

I've successfully negotiated with OC's to pull the accounts back from the CA's as a condition of payment.
