Fraudulent Personal Statement??

Recommended Posts

So I go to pull my True Credit this morning (May 1, 2007) and just before it redirects me to show todays report I get a screen asking me to call Customer Service and verify my personal information blah blah blah.

I pulled 2 other truecredit reports on 4-26 & 4-28 just fine. So I call customer service and he says that I have "requested additional security measures on my account". What ? Whatever ! and I answerr the questions. Log back in to get the May 1 report and was surprised to see the following "Personal Statements" that have appeared on my truecredit 3-in-1 report over the last 2 days.

================================================================================

Experian: 06& 05-01-07 0000000 ID FRAUD VICTIM ALERT FRAUDULENT APPLICATIONS MAY BE SUBMITTED IN MY NAME OR MY IDENTITY MAY HAVE BEEN USED WITHOUT MY CONSENT TO FRAUDULENTLY OBTAIN GOODS OR SERVICES. DO NOT EXTEND CREDIT WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTING ME PERSONALLY AND VERIFYING ALL APPLICATION INFORMATION AT DAY OR EVENING . THIS VICTIM ALERT WILL BE MAINTAINED FOR SEVEN YEARS BEGINNING 05-01-07.

Equifax: FRAUD VICTIM. "EXTENDED ALERT". CONSUMER HAS REQUESTED AN ALERT BE PLACED ON THEIR CREDIT FILE. CONSUMER DID NOT PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

TransUnion: #HK#EFCRA-EXTENDED FRAUD ALERT: ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED UNDER FCRA BEFORE OPENING OR MODIFYING AN ACC

TransUnion: OUNT

=========================================================================

Keep in mind, I never requested these statements. The truecredit rep said I would have had to place each of those individually with each credit bureau. And I would have to contact each bureau to have them removed. NO FREAKING WAY I DID THAT.

Is someone screwing with me? How did those "personal statements" get on on my reports? Is a creditor (hmmmmm CBCS?) screwing with me? Could a credit do that? And does this mean there are freezes on my files or are those statements just mimicking a freeze?

HELP !!!!!!

Those "Personal Statements" aren't so personal after all then.

Must be system generated. It's funny though, i have disputed before as "not mine" and it never affected the personal statement section.

One more question: Does this mean there is actually a credit freeze on each of the accounts?
