pinkeysas
I was just looking over my 2006 and 2007 Experian CR. I found that with one CA(Equinox Financial) with some differences between my 2006 and 2007 Experian CR's. Is there anything i can or should be doing with this?Experian 2006 Report:Equinox Financial: $292 past due as of April 2003Date Opened: 1/2003Reported Since: 9/2002Date of Status: 9/2002Last Reported: 4/2003Account History: collection as of Apr. 2003, Sept 2002Experian 2007 Report: Equinox Financial: $293Date Opened: 1/2003Reported Since: 1/2003Date of Status: 1/2003Last Reported: 1/2003Account History: Collection as of Jan 2003
retmar
If this is the same TL on two separate CR's, it appears they just updated the information reported. But, I do wonder about one thing. It appears to me they updated last in 4/03 as to what you noted. If this is true, then why are the TL's different in 2006 and 2007? Makes no sense to me.I would dispute the TL as not mine to see what comes of it. It may be deleted, or updated. If updated, it should have a new amount due and a last reported as 2007. Then go from there.

I did dispute it as not mine on April 7th so I am awaiting results. I just disputed it because i was disputeing all of the negative TL's on my CR's. But just today I noticed the difference between the two. I guess I will just wait now. Hopfully it gets deleted. If not???????
retmar
You betcha! If this comes back verified, I would dispute it next as to the amount not correct, or the reported since.
pinkeysas
So, your saying that I should point out in my DV letter the Discrepancies? If god forbid it comes back verified!!
thomassl
Remember, you do not DV the CRA's...you dispute with the CRA's and DV the collection agencies.
pinkeysas
Remember, you do not DV the CRA's...you dispute with the CRA's and DV the collection agencies.Yes, i do understand that. I already Disputed with the CRA's and am just awaiting a response, i disputed on April 7th and they have until May 21st to respond according to Experians policy.I was just wondering if it came back verified and i then had to DV the CA should I point out their differences in reporting from 06 to 07 in my DV letter??Also, what happens if they do not verify or respond to Experian reguarding my dispute by the "deadline" of May 21st???? retmar
If the CA responds to the dispute and verifies the debt as yours, therefore, the debt remains on your CR, your next move is to send a letter to the CA by CMRR challenging the TL in it's entirety. You would "copy" as displayed on CR onto your letter then reference each error. Once you've covered their incorrect reporting, you will adivsie them it is a violation and are now indebted to you. Therefore, if they will close, delete, and go eat Maggot Droppings, you will not sue.If they do not respond, EX will either delete the TL or change it to a paid collection with a zero balance. Most often they delete, but, I've seen the other.
