Approved for an AMEX!

Recommended Posts

I did a little research earlier today on which AMEX card would be the easiest to get being that in the last 6 months they have declined me twice. I decided that I would apply for the Gold Delta Skymiles card. Thinking I would get declined again, I was surprised when they gave me an instant online approval. The credit limit was only $1000 but I'm hoping to get sum luv at activation and from the luv button! Thanks CIC! I used to think AMEX was only for the rich and famous, who knew!

I will know more of the details tomorrow. But, I'm assuming they pulled either EQ or EXP. My EQ is clean with the most recent FICO being 698 and FAKO(TC) of 640. My EXP has 1 collection(Asset) which has recently been re-aged which caused my scores to fall(they're trying same thing with TU). My most recent EXP FICO was 627 and my FAKO(TC) was 577.

This is unbelievable! AMEX did pull EXP. So I just pulled my MYFICO EXP report and score one day after getting an AMEX. My score was 598. Asset was on there but I don't think it was being reported as a collection. When I pulled up the collection accounts, none was listed. It was with my regular accounts but showed seriously past due(90 days). I guess it is considered a late payment. I also had 13 inquiries. Some may have been lumped together due to being mortgage/auto inqs. I also pulled my TC reports this morning. My FAKO was 574 with the same info as the MYFICO report. I might have set an all-time low in score in being approved for an AMEX.

Holy Crap... I have been turned down twice in two months for the blue I think it was... I applied for this one... BAM, automatic approval with $2K limit... I'm not to excited about the yearly fee... I'll try to either change it to a different card or get them to waive that when it comes up next year...

Is this one of the Amex that you can carry a balance on if need be or do you have to PIF every month??? I try to have all of mine PIF every month... But you know how that goes...

My AMEX was in the mail when I got home from vacation... (well it was in the stack that I picked up at the post office anyway)... Got online and activated it... Waited a few hours because some things came up, got online again... Hit the CLI button, I had a 2K limit, asked for 5K and bam, they gave it to me... I'm pretty happy... I'm going to use it for a few months and hope it will be my way to one of their better cards with no fee's!!!
