Sprint put me in CA without sending a bill

With the help of this board, I have cleaned up my credit. It took some some, but with all your help i did it..

I am so upset...Now, I have great credit. Sprint called 3 times and said that i owe a billo for $94. Each time they had said that the problem will be corrected..

It is not my bill. a different account number and some discount they said i had from a corporation.

I pay my bill on time every month and when i signed up i did not even need a deposit and no balance showed up.

A collection agency called my daughter and told her i owe a bill to sprint.

I never got a letter saying they were putting me in the CA.

This is for real... Put me in a collection agency and not my bill.

They did send a letter stating that i would get shot off if i did not pay that bill and i called and they said that it will be taken care of and will not turn my service off. they did not turn service off.

I asked to put a manager on the phone and he said, "I will not, I am not done researching your account," Then he said it is taken care of. He insited it was my account.

I never had a cell phone until Oct. in my life.

I don't want them to get mad at me and shut me off because my family has sprint. free to sprint customers.

Please help. i am so upset. took hard work to fix credit. thanks,. carol

Sounds to me like you need to go above the supervisor that refused to research. Write a letter directly to the CEO or some other official at Sprint. In the meantime find out the address of the CA and send them a DV, just to get them to slow their roll. Also, disclosing to your daughter that you owe money to Sprint is a violation of the FDCPA. So, DV them and go above the supervisor's head. Good luck.

Have you checked your credit report? Is the collection on it? If so, I would dispute with the CRA's and make the CA prove it's your debt! If they verify it, they will have to tell you the how, when, where, why it was verified. If not, they will have to delete it. I just read an article this week on MSN Money about the company with the worst customer service and guess who is #1....SPRINT!!!!xxHellxx

Thank you all...

I did not check my credit report, assumed it is in the credit bureau because a CA has it.

Cannot believe they did this... They led me to believe that it was taken care of..

Thank, I will have to call the CA for an address and then DV... thanks, carol

Thank you... How do I prove that the CA had told me daughter it was for Sprint. She told my daughter that she was not able to give the information out but she ended up telling her any way.

Do you know what letter I should write to Sprint ? thanks, Carol

If it were my bill, I would not be so upset...But after all the work that i did and they do this... thanks, Carol

I just got off the phone with Sprint and asked for the manager.

I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to call since i was with the CA that is why I had asked for advice. thank you

She said that she will put the balance showing 0 and it will take 10 days to get my name out from the CA.

She will email me... See, mistakes do happen. This for sure was not my debt.

While i am on the subject, I still have 3 small credit cards on my credit report.

I did every thing. DV letters to Goodyear, sams club, CA and letter to credit bureau that said they were verified and they will not remove them.

Goodyear and sams club said that i had 30 days to verify which maybe I went over the 30 days.

Any thing else I good do ? This was done a few years ago. Got much help from this board. Gave me the guts to clean up my credit but for those few that won't go away. thanks so much, carol

Did they answer your DV letters? If they didn't, write another dispute to the CRAs, making your dispute very concise and clear, and make them either verify and violate or delete. If they verify again consider ITS and follow through. BTW, you shouldn't have sent a DV to the OCs (Goodyear and Sams). The proper letter is a dispute letter. The OC is under no obligation to verify to you, just investigate a dispute. Hope it helps. Good luck.

You are very helpful... Yes, the CRA did answer and said it was verified and then i called and they said they must go by what the CA or OC (don't recall which one) has to say and they verified.

GoodYear is listed, Samsclub and arrow Financial which is Goodyear.

I told the CRA that it is reported twice. She did not care.

Besides these were taken out in the 90's but they were updated on my credit report.

What is ITS and BTW ...... Thank you, Carol

Yes, the CRA did answer and said it was verified

Okay, but did any of the OCs or CAs answer your DV?

Besides these were taken out in the 90's but they were updated on my credit report.

If they were taken out in the 90's when did they default? If it was in the 90's then they are being reaged and you need to take them to court and call 'em on it. The Federal reporting period for negative information is 180 days + 7 yrs from the DOFD (Date of First Delinquency (the 90's I assume)). When did these go into default?

What is ITS and BTW

Intent To Sue and By The Way.

I think I am coming alive again after the passing of my husband..

I went through my papers today. Bag full..

On Feb. 25,2006 sent dispute letter to GoodYear.

On Feb. 25, 2006 Sent dispute letter to Sam;s club.

Sent validation letter to Arrow financial (Sam's club )

Said I did not demand validation in 30 days..15U.S.C.1692

First letter i got from arrow and sent the validation letter, they claim they have sent a letter I gather.

Yes, I have disputed with Credit bureau first and came back verified.

I have the green cards..

Letter reads... I recently pulled my credit report from Equifax. I immediately disputed with Equifax and so on... it looks like the correct letter.

Yes, just had a credit check done on me a few weeks ago to buy a used car and goodyear, sams club and that arrow financial (Sam's club) showed up.

Can't prove that they were in the 90's...

Can't believe they are on this long....

PLEASE give me the guts to go after them... The OC's never sent me any thing after I sent the dispute letters. Thank you, Carol
