UNCForest
I want to offer a PFD to a collection agency that has about 7 seperate medical accounts on me, totaling about $1000. They range in DOFD from, say, 2001 all the way to february of this year (before I started my 'journey'). Do you think I need to offer all $1000 in my PFD offer? Or do you guys normally offer less? lyle7289
A PFD offer is usually the for full amount. I have not heard of too much success with offering a PFD with less than the full amount.

timbercreektech
Just remember, you hold the cards(dollars), get the agreement in writing, document your path.

I've tried both, full and partial on debts within 12 months of dropping from my report all together and have had ZERO success with PFD. Three of the debts were only $15, $18 and $45. I guess some CA's are just jerkyier than others. Good luck!
IHateCAs
PFD are generally a waste of time. If it's a small local outfit in your town/county then maybe.
onthedot
I've had some luck with PFDs on smaller accounts. However Divemedic offered some advice that I didn't get until I sent out a second batch of PFD's. It was to never pay the CA, and the first step should be a DV. In hindsight I think that was good advice because I think they'd have had trouble trying to validate the account info. It was just too enticing to get them to quickly remove the TL for a relatively small amount of money. These three just showed up on my CRAs as Paid Collections, which is not what I wanted. I'd rather have paid the amount and had them removed completely. Oh well, here's to the learning curve. Listen to these old timers, they know what they're talking about!
