andknapp
I live in Indiana. The link for the search of collection agencies is http://www.in.gov/apps/sos/securities/sos_securitiesI have been bothered by ACC International, a division of American Collection Corporation since 2004. I can't find them listed under any name on that list. What do I say to them to tell them to get lost?
stancil1
Just tell them that they are not registered with the Secretary of State and that they are appearantly attempting to illegaly conduct business and that if they have a license, they need to show you their proof of ability to collect. Otherwise be gone.

Otherwise be gone. AND they need to show proof of the debt they allege you owe. Dispute it with the CRA also and if they validate it could potentially put them on the hook for validating a debt they can't prove.
