What steps do I take now with Crap One?

I disputed my Crap one account with all 3 CRA, no surprise all verified. :evil: This account was charged off in 2002 account was also closed that same year.

I noticed on my TU report they are now reporting the date account closed 02/07 which is not true. So I disputed with TU again. Now I’m stuck. What kind of letter should I send to them pointing out this problem?

I know I should dispute with Crap one but don’t know exactly what to say. Also date of deletion is different on all 3 reports. Does this give me any leverage?

Most will probably tell you to keep disputing, and use different reasons each time. Next time, try disputing based on the fact that date of closure is incorrect, and that it needs to be deleted. The admin, in her book, stresses the fact that you must let the CRA that the ending solution should be deletion.

Perhaps those more experienced can chime in also.

I keep disputing my accounts over and over again. Don't give up after one dispute. With Crap 1, they always verify. I had the same problem as they were reporting incorrect closing date. I just sent off a letter to them. Use that one at the top of the site "Dispute with Orginal Creditor" but change it to fit your situation.

Is this a Paid CO or unpaid?

If unpaid, have you tried a PFD?

It's an unpaid CO. The CO was about $1000 and now with all the interest it's $2332 and I am not paying that. I will continue to dispute and just see what will happen. It is schedule to fall out 09/08. If all fails I will be willing to settle.

I sent out the letter to Crap one they received it on 5/14, how long do they have to mark the TL disputed before it becomes a violation?

I received a response from Crap one, this is the letter I got:

Re:XXXXXXXX

Dear:

Thank you for your recent inquiry. We were unable to process your request with the information provided. For privacy reasons, we ask that you verify the following information before we are able to proceed with your request. Please complete and return this letter and the copy of your correspondence to our office.

Ok, they want My name,Address on file with them,Account#,SS#,DOB, and current address.I provided my name and account # along with current address. Do I need to send them all of this for them to investigate. If they are reporting every month they should have all this information anyway. What do I need to do?

Since I have no business relationship with you, there is no legitimate reason for you to need my social security number. I value my privacy. This is a request for an investigation pursuant to the Fair Credir Reporting Act § 623. (a)(8). If you will not/can not comply, I'll assume you simply have no records and are furnishing false and inaccurate information to credit reporting agencies.

I got the same letter from them on Saturday. Did you manage to get a delete with this?

I'm having issues with First Premier. They have validated twice, so I disputed under the FCRA. They replied with the "need more info" crap. So I sent the letter above. They replied with "Your account is being reported correctly, the SS# on the account is associated with your name. Please call our collection department if you have any questions."

I have not decided what to do. I guess it did get their attention. Sorta'.

Since I've sent out the letter that was suggested, I have not received anything from Cap one. It's been well over the time I gave them to respond which was 15 days. They have since then updated my credit report with a new balance. What shall be my next steps? Have they violated by not investigating my account and did not report my account as been disputed with the CRA. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I am not saying that you will not get lucky, but CRAP 1 will not go away that easy....they do have the account info but are prob being lazy about it. I am dealing with them as well and I was thinking starting a thread, but I will post here...to make things easier..hopefully we can both learn..

Questions for u? is this account within SOL?

I too got the same, please send us more info letter ---In my case, there are two TLs that they update religiously each month resulting in major dings on my report...for EQ, the accounts are listed under: Negative accounts, Accounts, and Accounts currently past due. OUCH!!

I sent them the full account numbers---In GA the SOL is a toss up but to be safe, one account will be 6 years six old since DOFD in a few weeks...sooooo I am staying put until that happens--I also noticed that they've re-aged the acct, I found an old bill from 9/2001 where I req the act closed but they kept it open until 8/2002...They sent me proof --several bills from 2000 but none in 2002-and a letter stating your last payment was in 8/2002 you OWE $1200!! YEAH RIGHT...LOL

The other account is still within SOL but thank goodness it is under 1k...the prob with this one? I think that this is a junk debt they purchased, prob my old HSBC account -found that out during my brief battle with Midland "we sold it to CRAP1" sooooo....the plot thickens....I cant wait to see what they come up with. Did they re-age the account, do they have any records? In the meantime I am saving some funds should I need to settle due to a retal suit from them.

My plans are to offer PFD (longshot) or settle the account still within SOL then go after them hard with the one out of SOL. That one will come off in 12 months no matter what and I can prove it.

I am hoping that they did re-age and the account was never brought current, if so--that would mean they cannot prove DOFD as HSBC no longer has any records, fighting them as well.

HSBC sold the account to Midland (fighting right now)

Midland--"went after them and they deleted" told me they sold act to CRAP1

CRAP1 is on deck
