I have no negatives on my reports with the exception of a 7 year old Chapter 7 BK and a state tax lien due to drop off in 2009. No balances on any CC or other revolving credit. I only have one CC having closed a few a few years back before I woke up. FICO scores are TU...682 EX...674 EQ...682. Just bought a car in DEC. 2006 most of original balance is left obviously. What kind of cards could I hope to get. Just looking to establish a couple new tradelines since my jacket is really thin. Hardly any open accounts now. Thanks.

I'd try Providian and Juniper, and store cards like Target and Macy's. But it's hard to tell without knowing who you burned. Some of them will have you back, some won't. Prime banks won't accept you with that BK, though.

Thanks. I burned Macy's. I've heard Target mentioned before. Problem I am having is my CR's are telling me that my score has suffered because I have opened too much credit up recently. Actually I got a $500 Wally. $3000 Sleepys line for a bed. $4200 6th Avenue Electronics. Middle of the road Altima 25K. All this since October '05. Seems like they all pulled Equifax. The inquiries were a minor neggie on their report. Maybe waiting wouldn't hurt. I saw a site that showed what cards pulled what CRA's. I got a few inquiries to burn with Experian but I don't know if anyone uses them in our area. Know the website i am speaking about? Thanks again.

Macy's will take you back. They'll even purge the old account from their system for you. Call their bankruptcy dept. and ask them to do that. Once you've confirmed that it's done, apply online for a new account. They'll use your Experian score. Apply for Bloomingdale's at the same time. With your score, there's a good chance you'll get both.

You're welcome! :)++

PS: Do you know your EX FAKO score? Just realized yours was a FICO. Macy's/Bloomie's are among the few issuers who actually use FAKO scores. :)
