bigjohnstud4200
I decided to dispute some lates on a pretty old car loan that has long been paid off. Before I disputed, I found out that the company is no longer in business. Their website is gone, their listings in the yellow pages are operator messages, they are no longer listed as an active business in the state they operated and I sent a request for statements to them certified with restrictions and it came back to me. So I figured, easy fix.. either they would just remove the lates (ideally) or delete the TL. EQ and TU both come back deleted, however, EX comes back verified. Now how in the heck did they verify that! I'm using this to my advantage. I will send them copies of the certified restricted letter that was returned along with all the other information disputing this companies existance and will also include the fact that since they have obviously lied about validating this TL, I refuse to accept any other TL's I've requested verified as "already verified". Wonder how their response will be!

momof5
Sent an ITS citing failure to investigate. I would also file an FTC complaint that EX does not actually conduct investigations and that they are guilty of defrauding consumers. Cut and pase a screen print of the complaint into your ITS. bigjohnstud4200
Stud, you seem surprised. LOLLOL I thought they were the most ethical people around to make sure they accurately report the alleged debts of their scumbag clients, the CA's!Sent an ITS citing failure to investigate. I would also file an FTC complaint that EX does not actually conduct investigations and that they are guilty of defrauding consumers. Cut and pase a screen print of the complaint into your ITS.Yeah, I think I will do this, however, I'm going to try and leverage them as much as possible before filing my complaints. Maybe I'll get exactly what I want and then still file the complaint!
merkurfan
in the mean time, MOV them. maybe they know something the rest of us don't? Maybe they have Miss Cleo on staff and they are channeling to the great obis of out of business companies??Or likely, they sold out and the buyer of the company is operating under a different name and EX knows where to find them. CreditKitty
I was cleaning up my boyfriend's report today and had the same thing happen. Kind of.NCO is on there trying to collect on a PAID debt. A debt that was paid to the original debtor - a debt that is well past the statute of limitations for this area too. They also have the dates and amounts wrong. Way wrong. But of course Experian is stating that this has been "verified". What??We are sending proof to them later today, so hopefully that will take care of this problem.
