Judgment

Helllllllp!!!! I am going bleeping insane!

I had a judgment against me. After some fighting and scrambling with the lawyers, I managed to get the judgment vacated. the amount with the original creditor was about $900. With all the the fees it came up to $2,800. I made a deal with the lawyer in which I gave him a check for the entire $2,800, and in exchange, the judgment would be vacated. So a month later, I received a letter from the court and the lawyer that the judgment has been vacated. In fact, I checked my credit report and it's no longer there.

My issue is, the original creditor is still claiming on my credit report that I owe them $900. I disputed this with Experian, but they said they verified it.

I thought the fact that the judgment was vacated should wipe all traces of this item from my credit report?

If the OC verified as 'owe $900' that is inaccurate and a violation of the FCRA.

Depending on what else the OC is stating about the account (is it positive otherwise or does it show as a CO with many late-pays?)

if its the latter...

maybe the you could us the Primer angle and get it deleted, ..... or sue for a violation of the FCRA and get $1000 back?

Just a thought.

Have you read the primer.... you may be happy they are reporting incorrectly... that's what the Primer relies on...

Another method I have used for that is to go back to the lawyer. He is representing his client. Tell him that you are glad that he honored his agreement, however, his client is reporting incorrectly that you still owe $900 and that they then verified this and you would hate to have to take them to court over this. Could he please contact his client and get this deleted?

It worked for me.
