oncogene1
Can a collection agency that has transfered a debt to another agency still report the debt after SOL expires? What about the CA that currently has the account?
thomassl
In many cases they will still report even though they know they cannot collect. I had a case where a debt was over 25 years old and they sent a letter trying to collect. They were promptly sent a letter from this forum and have since dissappeared! Most of them are hoping people are that knowledgeable about their debt. Also, in some states, if they convince to pay, it could reset the SOL. justincase
no they cannot, contact all three CRA's and inform them to delete from file due to SOL which is 7 years from DOLA which seems to be the situation in your case.
