Is this too much like a DV?

Recommended Posts

I didn't want to copy a dispute with the oc letter verbatim so I went with the less is more approach. They haven't responded and after re-reading it I'm thinking it sounds too much like a DV. Do they have to reply to this?

To Whom It May Concern:

I have disputed this account with the credit reporting agencies because I do not believe this account belongs to me. Please investigate this account and provide me with proof that I did indeed open it. An acceptable example would be a contract bearing my signature.

Please respond within 30 days and/or delete your records from my credit reports.

Sincerely,

stormywsmn

Maybe. Did you try just calling them up and asking for information over the phone and then just write a followup letter to the phone call. Make sure you have the phone number, ext and who you spoke with state in the letter. I hope someone with more experience can give you a better answer. I try...:lol:
