sharizap
I'm trying to decide which credit monitoring service to subscribe to and wondered if anyone could offer some feedback? I'm looking at TruCredit and Equifax's Credit Watch. They look like similar products, with the obvious difference of having unlimited access to either the TU or EQ report. EQ has the 3 in 1 Gold Family plan, which is $159 per year for 2 family members, which looks like a good solution for my dh & I while we work on our credit repair. (unfortunately, for some reason, I can't access that part of the EQ website at the moment.) TruCredit is $11.95 per month per person, through WalMart- unless there's a family plan option that I can't find yet. As I'm looking at what the two plans involve, they look very similar. Yet, it seems from the discussions on here it seems that more people use TruCredit- I see very little mention of the EQ product, and I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing, or if someone has any info or advice- any reason why TC might be a better buy than EQ?Thanks!! lhslancers
I wasn't impressed with Truecredit and I haven't seen the Equifax product that you are talking about. I found the TC to be missing a lot of detail within tradelines especially on my Equifax report. I might just go with the Equifax Score Watch thing one report two scores a few times a year and let it go at that. I am not buying a car or house in the near future your plans might be different. I bought Score Watch the other day for the Equifax credit report. I like the website and the report layout a lot. Looks pretty slick. The service rep was clueless. Not surprised. onthedot
I've been using TC, but considered the EQ service. The only reason I didn't go with EQ is they are too vague about what they mean by unlimited. It appeared that you can pull an EQ report "often", but they don't say how often, and the other two bureaus were like once a year or something. So I didn't go with it. CantCU
I, too, like Score Watch (but thru myfico.com). Haven't tried it through EQ, though.Used their product for 30 days trial, then cancelled. Went back this morning and it looks like I might be able to sign up again for a 30 day "trial". Perhaps that's a glitch in myfico's website, but I didn't go through with it, so I don't know if it will catch it before I finish the sign up procedure.Promised myself that I was only going to have ONE credit monitoring service...LOL! Brandon1107
From what I understand with TC you can bump inquiries off by checking report every day. I have TC and myfico both TC's layout leaves a lot to be desired, myfico is pretty sweet.
hiblues
I have all 3 services. or should I say HAD!TU dropped me and I don't know why.- gave some bogus reason- they said I could try again in 30 days.(maybe I fresh pulled to many times)AMEX has a service... https://www124.americanexpress.com/cards/loyalty.do?page=creditsecurebut you have to have a AMEX card. Can't really say which is best now (since they dropped me)I would have said TU for the price, but I'll be signing up with AMEXThey all have pros and cons depending on what you want out of it. UNCForest
Another possible issue to look at: someone may offer "unlimited access" to your report(s). Does this mean unlimited UPDATED reports? Or does the report update once a month and you can just SEE it as much as you want?
nylady
Hello All,I love TrueCredit. I've been a member since 2002 and I am very happy with the service. Unlimited credit reports and unlimited credit scores. When you order the credit report, you automatically get your scores. If you are making disputes the records usually update a few days after the CRA has made the change to your record.I have contacted customer service twice and happy with the service. The two calls that I made had to do with resetting my password. I can't find any other reason for calling them.Three credit reports and three credit scores- this is great. Credit reports can be ordered every 24 hrs.nylady
HOOT
Right now I have TC and Equifax Gold. I made a dispute with Transunion a couple of weeks ago and it was changed on my TC and alerted, but I have yet to show an alert on the Equifax Gold to the change. I know that you can only update your Equifax report only daily with the Equifax Gold, but it is suppose to alert you to any changes on the other two, EX and TU, and it has not. I have to say I am mostly pleased with TC, except the scores are not really that accurate. It seems to me that you really do not find the detail on any of the 3 credit bureus unless you pull seperately.

Or does the report update once a month and you can just SEE it as much as you want?I have truecredit and pay 11.95 for unlimited access. I thought I would be able to pull a new report when ever I wanted so I could get inquiries off. However, I was unable to pull a new report today. The earliest I can pull a new report is 30 days from my last pull. Was TC always like this or did they recently change?

Always tells me that when I get a hair-trigger finger.
lhslancers
I have the Equifax product now and while the TU and EX one time reports are static do not update you get a new EQ report every day.
