abizone
Just a fairly straight-forward question. Hopefully this also benefits some of the other newbies in the forum. If one were to dispute a late with the CRAs, on an account that has already been closed, and hypothetically they couldn't verify the late and remove the TL from the CR. Now, would the fact that the CRA has removed that TL suffice or would the OC also need to be dealt with, either via GW or DV, to get them to stop reporting it anymore. I've come across a few threads where folks talk about how their removed lates "re-appear" after a few months. So I’m curious about why this would happen. Thanks in advance for any help. stancil1
When you send a DV to a CA, the CA doesn't have to ever respond to you. If they don't respond, then they can no longer verify a dispute. However, if 3 or 4 months later, they get the intel back from the OC which properly validates the debt, then they can place it back on your CR and return to verifying it.The only way that you'll know thought is through monitoring as most CAs don't respond to DVs.Hope this helpsD
