HomerJ
Has anyone else gotten letters that you are preapproved for a credit card to pay off an old debt (generally SOL). I have gotten a couple lately. They say I am pre-approved, and they will charge this old debt to the account and I can just pay the card to pay it off. The interest rates and fees are usually outrageous. I have been simply tossing them. I was just curious if others are getting these as well.D'ohHomer J

bigjohnstud4200
If it's SOL, respond and tell them they are "Pre-Approved to FOAD!"
SugarNspice
I've gotten those for my DH! Throw them away!
chelle1183
I received an offer end of last year from a creditor and I accepted the offer. The offer was to transfer my old charged off balance to a visa card with an APR of 0% for the life of the balance. When I received this letter I didnt take advantage of it the first 2 times. The third time I received the letter I decided to go ahead. That was May of last year and I still have the visa card. Of course there were stipulations. SecretAgentWoman
So, you paid a debt you don't legally have to pay to get a visa card? You could have used the money to get a secured card, plus get your money back with interest.

Opened a secured card.It seemed the better strategy.
