Okay we paid this mortgage off on April 5, 2007. We just got the house out of foreclosure at 120 days late. I just looked at my new CR and the mortgage company reported us 180 days late in May! How can we be late when they already were paid off????? @SSholes. What should I do? It's Option One and there are plenty of blogs out there that let you know how bad this company is.

we were in foreclosure with Homecomings, back in 2005 and they still are reporting us as a rolling 60 days late because they waited until 9 months after we got out of foreclosure to inform us that they "forgot" to add a payment. I have fought with them for the last 2 years and they refuse to change the way they report. I was told that this is the way to keep people that have lower credit scores. because they have you at thier mercy. the way they report no other lender will touch us. and in Aug 2007 our 3 year arm is up and we are can not refinance so we will be paying around 14% instead of the 8.25 that we are at now. I hope you have better. luck but I havent. Homcomigs told us that we would have to make payments on time for 12 months, before they will stop the rolling lates. And it will show that we were in foreclosure for as long as we have the loan through them.:-(

Might help to know what mtg company.

How can they report 180 late in May? Since you were late when you closed....and IF the closing folks held the PO check and sent it late, the mtg co keeps clocking the lates.

This happened to me. I was late, but not 30 yet, when we got and offer and the amount for PO. RE agent said don't pay, it will get taken care of at closing. Of course the new buyers went VA but hadn't gotten their Cert of Elig. yet. Delayed closing by 45 days. Closed on the 3rd of Feb (contract was end of Dec) and the closing folks did not send check for 21 days - so I got hit with a 30 in Jan and 60 in Feb and status of "pays 61-90 days" on a closed/paid acct.

After ITS with mtg co, they updated my TLs to reflect: 1 (30 day) in Aug 2004 and no other lates, closed/paid/current. Not perfect, but since before that they had me with 5 - 8 (30)'s, 2 (60)'s and 1 (90)....I'll take it~

There wasn't any delay in getting the funds. I called the title company and they verified who the check was sent to, who signed for it and what time it was. They were paid in full a full month before they reported us 180 days late! OOOOOOO this makes me so mad!!!! And their calls are outsourced to India, so good luck to me getting to talk to anyone with any kind of knowledge. I was hoping there would be some kind of law that was broken by reporting after the fact so I could just threaten suit.

I had a thread for New Century who belongs in the bag of scum. A mortgage man who belongs to this site recommended I work through RESPA instead of disputes etc. It worked great send them a "Qualified Written Request" to see how everything was applied. As soon as I did this New Century was on their toes and corrected everything. Mind you before that I was fighting the reporting for two years.

Dee makes a point.

As I said...there were NUMEROUS lates on my CR with Chase Mtg. They were incorrect! I spent 2 YEARS fighting them....with more intensity when I sold the house and they were reporting that I was currently 60 days late on a paid mtg!

MTG companies are inherently stubborn!
