bigjohnstud4200
I know there are a lot of people out there trying to find resolve with Capital One accounts. Today I decided to start the process of getting my Crap 1 account resolved. I found out that the "estimated time this will be removed" dates on my CR's are not accurate. Apparently, the CRA's don't have the DOFD and are using the DOLA, for me at least. I found this out by calling Crap 1's collection department and found this little nugget. If you send a written request to Capital One at:PO BOX 30285Salt Lake City, UT 84130They will send you all the statements you want, free of charge. This might be helpful in determining the accuracies of your accounts.Good luck!
Drew
Not to sound negative, but what happens if the statements don't match? All the CRA's can do is correct the negative TL right?

A couple options with inaccurrate reporting might be that if the OC verified the account as being accurate multiple times before and you have proof of incorrect reporting, they have broken the law and subject to fines under the FCRA. Maybe they will agree to remove if you agree not to sue. Another option, which is my case, they are reporting the wrong DOFD and it get bumped off now or ages the account more which negatively affects your score less.. <shrug>

Drew
She told me, "no cost, but you have to request it in writing."I'm a little embarrassed, I didn't know what the heck was so great about getting statements at first. Then I realized, while reading this thread today, that I'm using the same tactic with Capital One and sent off an ITS letter yesterday.Except I didn't request statements, I just went off the non-aligning information on my credit reports they repeatedly verified.Good stuff. bigjohnstud4200
Do all your credit reports agree with one another? No they don't. EX shows months of CO where the other two are not, then there are different 120 and 150 days late. I'm still debating on how I am going to approach this. The last thing I want is them to update with CO all the way up to my Paid date.

I know what you mean, but it's worth sending a dispute on the information. I would approach it like I have, sending an ITS letter. If they fail to comply, sue their assets.
