GW Denied BY FMC

I wrote a good will letter to Ford Motor Credit requesting to remove a 30 day late from my CR and the account has been paid in full in '05.. Received a reply today saying they are in agreement with CB and should report all information factually correct according to FCRA. Also noted this line,

"If the reported information accurately reflects Ford Credit's experiences with your account, we will not request the CRA's to remove it from your credit report".

Does this mean they didnt even check the account information with them. I am sure if they had all the information they wouldnt have that if. Any inputs on this. Should I try to dispute with CRA's just to see whether it will come verified. Kind of in a dilemma. Any Ideas, suggestions..

Thanks

It sucks that they are not willing to help out. I should rather have disputed with CRA's before trying a GW. Anyway.. I will write again and see if it lands in the hands of a different person and may be i get lucky and it costs only 41 cents ;) .

One thing to remember about disputing lates is you run the chance of deletion if they decide not to verify the dispute. Leaving you with a big hole where decent credit history once was and creating a drop in FICO. Just be careful with your approach to this.

This is absolutely correct. I disputed an auto loan that reported me 30 days lates 22 consecutive months after the account was PAID. The loan company is out of business or sold and never responded to TU so they just deleted the entire TL. I guess that is better than 25 lates. EX and EQ just deleted the lates.
