Fizzle1979
Boomer - If I were you, I would file a complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, American Collectors Association (Unifund is a member so they will take your complaint) and the Attorney General of North Carolina and Ohio. However, you will need to send them documentation. Most of them accept your scanned documentation, if you don't have a scanner, take it to your local Kinko's, etc. Just filing a complaint with no documentation won't do much good. Now others will disagree with me on filing complaints, saying it does nothing. For me, it is not a matter of will any of these organizations investigate my complaint or that I expect an answer back from them. It just simply gives me a chance to tell these organizations and the general public my rights have been violated and I will not be like most other consumers and allow it to happen. I personally got a response from the Ohio AG, Marc Dann, when I filed my complaint with his office against Unifund and they responded saying they were investigating this matter on my behalf. And when Unifund would not respond to my numerous attempts for them to remove bankruptcy information from my credit report, the BBB got a response from them. So if you have the time, file the complaints with the above mentioned organizations. Yes it takes time...but everyone has 24 hours in a day, you choose what you do with those 24 hours. If you do have time read my dealings with Unifund...it's been a long process. http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265130

I hope it all works out (for the both of us).I will call the BBB and AG, but after reading all of your posts I don't feel that I have enough on them yet, 2 maybe 3 violations. Maybe you can count more even though I have not been as detailed in my post as you.

bigjohnstud4200
You got my mouth all ready for some orange juice and didn't leave nothing but a swallow. Then swallow it and shut the eff up!I love that movie!OP, send them another letter stating that you know they verified with the CRA's and you need them to provide proof to you as well. Also, if you do file FTC complaints, send them a copy.
