jlt071997
This may seem like a stupid question, but, when I send letters to companies pulling inquiries, I need to attach my ss# to the letter, don't I? Don't want to screw this up. I've disputed on Eq, but I can't get Tu or Ex to budge. Thanks!
SecretAgentWoman
If you search these forums you would find that Eq is the only company that lets you dispute inquiries.Transunion - the only way is to *bump* them off with repeated daily pulls or soft inquiries from a service like TrueCredit.Experian - you have to put a fraud alert on your account and dispute directly with the fraud department and cross your fingers.Otherwise you can always try to dispute directly with the company that made the hard pull. dazedandconfusedincali
But does it really work? Has anyone had any luck contacting to company that pulled your report and got them to actually remove the inquiry?
antietamquilter
I have disputed directly with the bureaus as well as the collection company. With the companies, if a medical collection, tell them they must show proof they received your permission under HIPAA regulations or delete the item. If non medical, tell them the agreed to delete the line from the credit bureau. Most all came off this way, especially if paid off. 2 I had to go through bureaus and ask for verification. Once paid off, the collections firms make no more money off of it so if you keep requesting it, they eventually delete it so they don't expend any more time which is money lost. jlt071997
Well, I called the companies that did the hard pull today, none would take off, they just told me to contact the original company. Apparently, they have lots of "clients" they pull for. Most of these are from 2005, so they'll fall off later this year. Would you suggest sending letter to Ex or TU to get them off? brown71635
I just wanted to make sure that I am understanding this correctly. If there is a collection agency listed on your credit report for medical collection, you can tell them to show proof the under HIPAA regulations they had your permission to show these on your credit report or they must delete them? If that is correct what letter will I need to send them is it in the sample letters??
SecretAgentWoman
Uh...we are going off topic here. This thread is about deleting inquiries - not collection accounts.
someonesomewhere
At the risk of repeating what SAW said, here goes. With EQ, you can dispute INQs and get 'em off. Relatively easy. With TU, bump. Most in here use TC to bump. Use the Walmart link and save a few bucks when you sign up for TC.With EX, an FA and say a prayer. Think I got one, maybe two, INQs off EX. Got one off SWMBO's EX. Others have gotten most or all EX INQs off.TU bumping will also, eventually, starting bumping EQ INQs.http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showpost.php?p=752959&postcount=
