MadinKS
I was checking TC last night and noticed that TU finally updated my GMAC account to 0 lates. I faxed the letter from GMAC about a week ago. Well, 2 days ago my TU FICO was 668. Today it's 691. All that changed was the removal of the single 30 day late (incorrectly being reported BTW). So, it appears that one 30 day late, in my case, equates to 23 FICO points. Just wanted to share because people may be concentrating on all the major stuff and overlook the little things that can increase your score. Get those GWs out there and see what you can get accomplished. Good luck everyone.

sweeperlady
Thanks again MadinKS. I only asked here because I saw your scores as your tag line. The monitoring service I am using right now only gives me EX's score. My mortgage broker told me about TrueCredit and I'm going to check it out. Congratulations on all your successes! Texan
After writing a GW letter to Countrywide I had 2 30 day lates and a 60 day late removed from Experian. My fico was 556 and when the lates were removed it jumped to 683. Just waiting on TU and EQ being updated.

sweeperlady
Another TrueCredit Walmart link user.??? Maybe I am reading this the wrong way, but are you saying that I must have linked to this site from Walmart's site because of my question? I only asked because I saw a update of all 3 credit scores as a tag line. I thought I was using a good service for monitoring, but I only get one credit score and didn't know there was a difference between CRA's.

barderspond
Congratulations! You've had far better luck than I.Took me three letters, five phone calls, a verification of mortgage and a broker who works for the mortgage company to finally get option One to fix my lates they were incorrectly reporting. I had originally tried to avoid all the hassle by sending a goodwill letter, and they very pointedly responded with a letter stating it would be an FCRA violation for them to change the lates...yadda yadda yadda.I disputed and TU came back verified.I disputed again and TU came back and said "frivolous" and stated they did not owe me any further investigation, take it up with the lender, yadda yadda yadda (the contempt in their letter for the consumer was unmistakeable).I got another reply from Option One after pestering their custome service once more listing the valid lates...and the stupid sheet actually proved the information they were contending was correct was in fact incorrect!!!That, plus a few nice words to a good lady at Option One who wants to sell me a refi, finally got a committment to change the information. I'm much more hopeful as to the potential gain after reading this thread! And I hate TU.

Do you still have the number or her name? We're in the same boat, only we really were late and we have tried calling and begging, but we can't ever get through the customer service. If we could get these lates off this, we would be golden. Thanks for any information you can give me..and oh yeah, OPTION ONE IS THE DEVIL........
