Kennedy
I had a friend to DV letter on an At&t account, and they replied, that they were enclosing a statement, that was provided by the OC. Funny thing it looks like a statement that they did. Has a statement date of 2 weeks ago, the OC name, the principal amount and interest, but on the last transaction line, there is nothing. The header on top even has Asset's name and address on it. Is this a proper DV reply?
Lyssarene
They did the same thing to me in their response. A letter or statement on their letter head does not suffice as validation.
SecretAgentWoman
They did that to me, I fought it, and won. Just keep fighting it, complain to the BBB, the FTC, the AG, and finally, send an ITS, and they will back down. They are just stubborn, so your friend is in for a long fight. Kennedy
When you say keep fighting it, do you mean go to the BBB? If so, which one? In the city, where the company is located?Or do we keep validating a couple times more?

But if you go to the main BBB website, it will naturally forward your complaint to the right office anyway.
Nascar3
I wouldn't count on getting a decent response from the BBB.....they closed my complaint case without even an OFFER of a resolution from the OC.
Kennedy
Then if not the BBB, then what?
Nascar3
If I knew the answer to that I'd be on it. I am going to try the AG, but I have my doubts with them as well. I did complain to the FTC, but all they do is log complaints. Basically what the BBB did for me was allow me to file a complaint. The OC responded, basically just paraphrasing what I said in my complaint. Then I replied to the paraphrasing, to which the OC also responded, basically telling me to take a hike, their records were legit. Next thing I know the BBB closed the case. What I wanna know is who do I go talk to to complain about the BBB??? Anyways, they didn't do jack for me and from what I've read about them they don't really help anyone except in large class action type cases.Just my two cents.
