eyeball
Just needed an opinion I have an exxon card that haa small balance I was going to pay it before I file BK7. Would they still cancel it once I file BK7, or would they let me keep it. Some posters seem to indicate that all credit cards will be closed after a BK some others say no...please help
willingtocope
Probably. We had a BP card with a small balance. It got closed and included in the Bankruptcy. As I remember, we didn't even list it on our schedules, but the found out about it anyway.Again...look into getting a debit card on your checking account. You're going to be working on a strictly cash basis for awhile...
LadynRed
It depends. I had 2 gas cards, one from Texaco/Shell and one from BP. Both were backed by Citibank at that point in time. I had no balance on either of them and hadn't had any negatives on either - ever. Citibank left these accounts open and I'm still using them today. At the time I filed, I owed Citibank nothing, not even on my Sears, which also stayed open and is still usable. On the other hand, Dillards and Home Depot were both zero and hadn't had anything on them in quite some time, both positive accounts, yet they were closed on me after I filed. I believe both were backed by GEMB.
